I believe the ways in which we think, feel and behave are dramatically impacted by our relationships with others. By helping you make sense of your family experiences as well as your own beliefs, I hope to empower you to move toward a more fulfilling personal and family life. In our sessions together, we might do this by discussing early memories, your place within your family, and other environmental factors that may have influenced the way you see the world.

During our time together I will encourage you to identify your values so that you might make intentional and positive choices.  It is my hope that through this process you will develop a strong sense of your inner value and will gain the tools needed to feel confident and empowered in navigating daily life.

I practice counseling with a positive view of human nature and with a belief that meaningful change is possible through a collaborative therapeutic process. As part of that collaboration, we will review your previous relationships, interactions, choices and patterns of past behavior to help set new, satisfying and attainable goals for the future. These goals may relate to any area of life that is important to you.

In marital, couple and family therapy, sessions will focus on addressing conflicts and stressors, developing constructive communication, building on individual strengths, expressing and fulfilling needs, and strengthening the resiliency of your relationships.

I believe that relationships shape who we are and impact our behavior including the relationship we have with ourselves. When these relationships become challenging many areas of our lives are affected including school, home, work and individual wellbeing. I am passionate about working with clients who struggle with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image issues and how those alter the way we see the world and those around us. I strive to create a safe therapeutic space where we can authentically explore those avenues and roadblocks so that each person can have a new experience of themselves and those around them.

Sessions will be tailored to the individual, couple, or family’s needs and might focus on alternative communication styles, past behavior patterns, genuinely understanding and expressing emotion, and fostering compassion and empathy.

My passion is helping children and adolescents who struggle with self-esteem, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, autism spectrum disorder, and adjusting to life’s changes.  My goal is to help my clients regulate emotions, have more confidence, and build connections with the people around them.  I believe in the human capacity to overcome challenges and seek to empower clients to find alternative ways to get their needs met. I also believe that the journey toward healing can be fun and lighthearted and use play therapy and developmentally appropriate methods to meet the youth where they are.

I celebrate diversity as your family’s counselor and strive to create a safe and therapeutic environment to be able to facilitate connection with you and your child. Together, we will set goals and work toward making positive family changes. I look forward meeting with you and your family!

I am passionate and experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults, and parents. We can all benefit from counseling and all have the capacity to have more positive outcomes in our lives.  As your counselor, I will provide a nurturing and safe place for us to work together.

I believe the counseling relationship is the most important part of the therapeutic process. I enjoy helping children and adolescents experience more success at home and school. As a parent collaborator, we will work together to understand the function of your child’s behavior and assist you with parenting skills that will help you become a more confident, positive, and effective parent. Together, we will help your child build self-esteem, learn more productive coping skills, and heal.

I am passionate about helping children, adolescents and their families discover their strengths in facing and overcoming challenges.  I thrive on seeing the power of resiliency in people, especially in children, when going through challenging times.  I believe meaningful changes happen when one is provided with a safe space in a therapeutic relationship where they feel safe to process, understand, express, and explore.  Coming from a multicultural background, I appreciate cultural differences that make every one of us unique.  I am excited to work with you and your family towards goals and positive changes!

As a counselor I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients feel seen, heard and accepted. I want to help individuals in their journey through healing, and I believe that process begins with trust and genuineness from one’s therapist. I have experience working with children, adolescents and parents in a variety of settings, including elementary schools, inpatient and outpatient programs. I understand the importance of working collaboratively with parents, guardians and key support figures in a child’s life and incorporate this into my practice. I like to use expressive modalities, such as art and play therapy so children can communicate wants and needs in a developmentally appropriate manner. My areas of expertise include anxiety and depression, issues related to school, mindfulness practices and suicidal ideation.

I believe in the healing power of relationships because humans are innately wired for connection. Relationships, past experiences, and cultural contexts interact to shape our worldview and sense of self. In our work together, I aim to integrate these parts of you in hopes of collaboratively working together to achieve your goals.

I strive to create warmth and compassion to establish an environment of safety where my clients feel supported and heard. I am deeply passionate about working with couples and families to promote attunement, secure attachment, and understanding that creates lasting change outside of therapy. I operate from a strengths-based, client-centered, and cognitive-behavioral lens to help gain insight into unwanted patterns and make small changes that can lead to larger changes over time. I utilize expressive arts and play therapy tailored to my clients’ developmental needs in hopes of providing accessible care to everyone involved.

Are you wishing your child came with an instruction manual? The parent-child relationship is how children come to understand themselves and the world and is what parents most want to get right. So, when children struggle, parents do, too. My goal in counseling is to help children and parents build on the love and strengths they already have, learning new ways to interact, communicate, and solve problems.

My experience and philosophy both tell me that children do well when they can. And when children feel better, they do better! I use therapeutic play involving parents to address behavioral and emotional issues for younger kids. Older children and teens do well with a combination of creative and cognitive/mindfulness approaches. And I work with every family to implement positive parenting practices, develop collaborative problem-solving skills, and strengthen attachment bonds at all ages.

I believe healing happens when children experience the safety necessary to be fully witnessed and accepted as they are. I aim to cultivate a therapeutic environment where this is possible. I utilize play therapy as a developmentally appropriate approach to support children with overcoming various cognitive, emotional, and behavioral challenges. I consider building a trusting and collaborative relationship with both child and caregiver at the heart of this process. My practice is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and systems-oriented. I am committed to coming into relationship with individuals and families in a manner that welcomes diverse cultural backgrounds.
