New Teen Process Group in Cedar Park
We are accepting referrals for a new small group beginning March 23, 2022.

Cost: $55 per group meeting
When: 9 Weekly Meetings on Wednesdays 6:30-7:30p
First meeting March 23 – last Spring meeting on May 18th
Ages: 13-16
All genders welcome
Teens who are the best fit for this group:
- Also do or have done individual therapy
- Are willing to talk about mental health
- Had or have tough family relationships
- Struggle with understanding themselves or their mood
- Want to meet 3-6 new people in a place where judgments aren’t allowed
- Can try to be silly or creative together
Group therapy can be an authentic, nonjudgmental place to go deeper than general advice from friends and the internet. Let’s break down barriers of judgment, shame and guilt together to improve communication, acknowledge needs and appreciate strengths. Expressive art and games allow teens to playfully problem solve. I also aim to give the teens some choices about how we use the group time.
Recently, the need for mental health services has increased beyond what I believe the supply of individual therapy can meet. I’m passionate about effectively helping more people through groups. I have facilitated therapy groups for children, teens and adults as a student intern and also since 2017 as a licensed counselor. I’ve done this in so many settings: outdoors, with whole families, at grief camp, around a circle in a traditional office and yes, of course, online.
This group plans to meet in-person and participants will be asked to wear masks if they’re feeling under the weather. A graduate student intern will co-facilitate under supervision.
